Whitney Place Assisted Living Residences

Tapestry Program

An Innovative Assisted Living Program for Seniors with Memory Loss

Unlike traditional assisted living programs, The Tapestry Program at Whitney Place is designed specifically to accommodate the unique and changing needs of those with Alzheimer’s or other memory impairments. The Tapestry Program weaves together each individual’s strengths, the participation of care partners, and the wealth of experience of our service staff.

Recognizing every person’s right to validation and acceptance throughout the disease process, we provide a familiar and home-like environment that supports our residents’ abilities while respectfully accommodating their losses.

This highly acclaimed program incorporates the habilitative approach to caregiving. Basic tenets include simplifying the environment, concentrating on each resident’s current capabilities, creating opportunities for success, and helping care partners and family members learn to speak the nonverbal language of the individual with Alzheimer’s.

The Tapestry Program offers:

  • Apartments complete with private bath & kitchenette
  • 24-hour staffing & emergency response system
  • Routine safety checks
  • Personal care as needed
  • Medication management
  • Three nutritious meals & snacks daily
  • Housekeeping/laundry & linen service
  • Exercise and wellness programs
  • Consistent daily schedule of events
  • Priority access to on-site health care
  • Support groups

SUPPORT GROUPS for family members and carepartners of those with Alzheimer’s disease and Early Stage patients are held each month. These groups provide support and education, with the opportunity to share feelings, ideas, and concerns. All meetings are free of charge and open to the public. Light refreshments are served.
